Dear Students and Parents,
A special thank you to all of the Middle School parents who volunteered and helped to make this year's Science Fair a huge success. I am so proud of all of the projects and presentations from our 7th and 8th grade students. Check out a few pictures from this year's Science Fair posted below.
The upcoming week includes a field trip for the entire Middle School to the Basilica in D.C., STEM night on Tuesday (6:00-8:00pm), and a field trip for the 7th grade and their buddies to the Chesapeake Bay.
I look forward to seeing all of the students this week and having the opportunity to have so many fun events planned for the week. I hope everyone has a blessed and wonderful week.
Thanks,
Mr. Joseph Miller

Week of April 23, 2017
Dear Students and Parents,
Welcome back from Easter break! I hope that all of you had a blessed vacation and are excited to return to school for our last 7 weeks before the end of the school year. We have a lot of exciting events coming up in the Spring including our 7th and 8th grade Science Fair this Thursday, April 27th. We are still in need of judges for the competition, so if you are an interested parent who is STAND trained, please email me at jmiller@staug-md.org. The Science Fair will take place from 12:30-3:10pm. The students have worked very hard and are excited to share their experiments and results with all of you. Here are a few pictures from last year's Science Fair posted below.
I look forward to seeing all of the students this week! If parents have photos that they would like to share with me or the yearbook committee, please email me and I will forward them to the committee. Have a blessed and wonderful week!
Thanks,
Mr. Joseph Miller

Week of April 9, 2017
Dear Students and Parents,
We have waited a long time for this moment, but we are finally here. Tomorrow we leave for North Bay Adventure Camp! Please remember to make sure that you arrive to school on time tomorrow for our departure after prayer and morning announcements. We will be gathering in the Library, so please bring all luggage, medication, and any other materials needed there when you arrive.
I will be posting plenty of pictures on Twitter, so please check them out @MrMillerSAS if you want to see up to date photos of the 6th grade having fun. Since we are coming back from the trip on Thursday, when the school is closed, please be ready to pick up your students and take them home. An Alert Now message will be sent out when the bus departs North Bay and is headed back to the school.
What a great way to come together as a community and class in friendship and in team-building during this final week of Lent. As we prepare for Easter, let us focus on our actions and words towards each other and to always remember to treat others the way that we want to be treated.
Thanks,
Mr. Joseph Miller

Dear Students and Parents,
Our Standardized testing week has come to a close and now we can return to learning new concepts and getting our hands busy again in the Lab. I want to thank all of the parents that brought in some of the most creative and delicious testing week snacks for the students. The students were very happy during testing. I want to also thank the students who worked tirelessly on our Character Counts themed classroom door throughout the week.
As a result of such wonderful collaboration, all students are in free dress tomorrow, Monday April 3rd. Please keep an eye on the weather as we prepare for our trip to North Bay next week (April 10th-April 13th). If you have any questions or concerns regarding the trip next week, please email me at jmiller@staug-md.org.
Thanks,
Mr. Joseph Miller
